Yes. AutoSplit is an Acrobat plug-in and, per EverMap, needs the full version of Acrobat Standard or Pro on Windows; it does not run with the free Reader. Docusplit runs in the browser on any operating system; you upload the stack and get back a ZIP of named single files.
Is there an AutoSplit alternative for Mac?

Do I have to write split and rename rules?
No. With AutoSplit you define where to split (bookmarks, page count, text patterns, and in the Pro version blank pages or layout changes) and how to name. With Docusplit you only pick a mode, invoices or mixed documents; the boundaries and the names come from the content.
Is AutoSplit better for privacy because it runs offline?

What happens when the AI splits wrongly or cannot read a page?
Pages without readable details end up as Document_Page_N.pdf in the ZIP, or in an Unknown folder if you chose folders by month. The CSV overview lists what was recognized and how confident the model was, so check those rows first. Attachments without a letterhead, blank back pages, delivery notes next to invoices and handwriting are the usual causes.
When is AutoSplit the better choice?
When Acrobat Standard or Pro is already licensed on Windows desks, the documents share one structure and the files must not leave the machine. Then the one-time $99 or $149 costs less over time, and watch folders, Bates numbers and the command line fit a fixed routine.
